PG *blandijaną, OE blendan 1, blendian 2, ME blē̆nden, assimilated to the adjective MnE blind to become blind. Ultimately goes back to PG *blandaną, which gave rise to ON blanda VIIc (which see for further cognates) and 2 “mix.”
